Leading Today in View of Tomorrow

The microwave. Uber. Amazon Prime.

There’s no denying we live in an instantaneous culture. While the many things vying for our attention may keep us efficient and entertained, they distract from the true longings of our soul which transcend the here and now. We were made for the long haul.

As leaders, our perspective shapes our priorities, and our influence is formed through thousands of daily choices. When we align our days with the Kingdom come, our souls are awakened and our deepest longings are fulfilled. We were never meant to thrive in the emptiness of instant gratification.

We were made for eternity.

We can hunt for hacks to help us quickly climb the corporate ladder or increase productivity, but there is no quick fix that will satisfy the soul. We will lead the world to Jesus by rebelling against the pressure to build our lives around instant gratification, instead choosing to live and lead in the vision of the Kingdom coming, on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Heaven starts today. Today’s provision is for tomorrow’s Promised Land. Jesus,
